Medical shop sealed for illegal sale of psychotropic drugs

UDHAMPUR:  A joint team of officials from the Drug and Food Control Organisation Udhampur and the Police Department conducted regulatory inspections and sealed a medical shop for illegal sale of psychotropic drugs.

The inspections were initiated based on specific information regarding M/s D K Medicos, Airforce Road, Udhampur, which was allegedly involved in selling Schedule H1 drugs without following the mandatory procedures. Upon inspection, the proprietor Deep Kumar admitted to not maintaining any sale records via CBS (Centralized Billing System).

Following the violations observed under Section 22D of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, the premises were sealed on the spot in the presence of police officials. A show-cause notice was issued to the proprietor.

The inspection team was led by Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Assistant Drug Controller Udhampur/ Ramban, along with Drug Control Officers Rakesh Singh Slathia (Udhampur HQ) and Narinder Pravesh (Ramnagar). The police team was headed by SHO Raghuveer Singh, SI Abhinav Bhatti, and accompanying police personnel, including a lady constable.
