Atrial Fibrillation and Ventricular arrhythmias awareness conference

Pawan Kumar Bansal : Month of September is Atrial Fibrillation awareness month. This is the most common heart rhythm abnormality in adults and if not properly treated can lead to permanent neurological damage – stroke,heart failure.

India’s First Arrhythmia support network which is a patient and physician education platform organised a CME – Punjab’s First – ATRIAL FIBRILLATION & VENTRICULAR ARRHYTHMIA – STATE OF ART SYMPOSIUM – 2023 , Ludhiana , Punjab on 9th September, 2023 at Hotel Palm Court , Ludhiana , Punjab.

It aims to spread awareness about heart rhythm disorders which are leading cause of sudden cardiac death & stroke and newer technologies which has made possible to cure these disorders.

The conference was attended by around hundred physicians , eminent cardiologist from all over India and medical students at Hotel Palm Court , Ludhiana , Punjab.

Dr Rohit Walia, Founder of India’s First Arrhythmia support network explained how to recognize heart rhythm problems, newer technologies in catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation, ventricular arrhythmia which can cure these problems.

Dr Atul Prabhu, Head of Pediatric Cardiology & Pediatric Electrophysiology at Narayan Heart Institute, Bangalore explained the importance of early recognition of heart rhythm disorders in pediatric patients and use of newer technologies in catheter ablation to treat these disorders.

Also, on eve of Atrial Fibrillation awareness month – September BOOKS: Technique & Art of Atrial Fibrillation Ablation, Technique & Art of Cardiac Physiological Pacing & Technique & Art of Ventricular Arrhythmia Ablation were released.There are one of first Of its kind books launched and published by an Indian author.

Prof Vikas Saini, Professor at PGIMER Chandigarh explained how to respond and resuscitate a victim of sudden cardiac arrest in adults and pediatric patients.

Dr Mohit Walia, Director Cardiology at Shalby Hospital Mohali explained how pateints can use gadgets like apple watch, Alive cor to record electrocardiogram ( ECG) to help diagnose infrequent or paroxysmal heart rhythm disorders and this can be transmitted to cardiologist for seeking immediate help. He also described how to recognize the conditions which can predispose to dangerous heart rhythm disorders leading to sudden cardiac arrest and devices like implantable cardiac defibrillator to prevent sudden cardiac arrest in high-risk patients.
