Govt Job for Project Research Associate at RCB, Govt of India

Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), an Institution of national importance established by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, with regional and global partnerships synergizing with the programmes of UNESCO.

The primary focus of RCB is to provide world class education, training and conduct innovative research at the interface of multiple disciplines to create high quality human resource in disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of biotechnology in a globally competitive research milieu.

Post : Project Research Associate-I

Title of Project : ”Elucidation of the functional interactome of legumes with the fungal pathogen Erysiphe pisi as keys to powdery mildew disease resistance”. (The Project involves extensive protein purification, biochemical and biophysical characterization and structural studies).

Duration : Initially for one year, extendable on annual evaluation.
Age Limit : 37 Years

Essential Qualifications : PhD in Life Sciences. Minimum 60% marks in Masters or equivalent degree. Demonstrated experience (Substantiated by first author publication) in protein purification, crystallization and protein structure determination.

Desirable Qualifications : Experience in molecular biology techniques, biochemical and biophysical techniques, good oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently are preferred.

Fellowship :Rs. 47,000/- + 16% HRA per month.
Principal Investigator (PI) : Dr. Divya Chandran, Associate Professor; Co-PI: Dr. Deepti Jain, Associate Professor (The position will be in Dr. Deepti’s lab)
