3 Smugglers Arrested With Cough Syrup Worth Rs 41 Lakh, Seized

Varanasi : The Manduadih police of the district got a big success. On Sunday, 202 cartoons of intoxicating cough syrup loaded on a cargo auto were recovered from Lakhanpur in the area, the cost of which is said to be 41 lakh 80 thousand. The police informed the drug department about getting the intoxicating syrup. Drug Inspector Vivek Kumar, who reached the information, investigated.

The police arrested the accused for not showing concrete documents. At present, legal action is going on in the matter.

In fact, Manduadih police station in-charge Vimal Kumar Mishra said that information was received from the informer on Sunday morning. The informer told that some people are standing near Lakhanpur with illegal intoxicant cough syrup and are planning to sell it in the market of Varanasi.

On the basis of the information, the police reached the spot and busted the gang and arrested 3 accused.

According to Manduadih police station in-charge, on the information about recovery of intoxicating cough syrup, the drug department team reached the spot and investigated.

During interrogation, the arrested accused told that he had brought cough syrup from Delhi. Which was planned to be sold in the market of Varanasi and MP. 202 Cartoons of intoxicating cough syrup worth Rs 41 lakh and Rs 2.80 thousand in cash have been recovered from the accused.

The three accused are identified as Prashant Kumar Kasera (28), Himanshu Kasera (20), Ajay Keshari (27). All three are residents of Chandauli. Police have registered a case against all three under the NDPS Act. The case is being investigated.
