When a doctor leaves his comfort zone to cast vote in such daunting weather condition, we can be sure of a far better India in times to come. The excitement of Dr Aashish Chaudhry, eminent Knee Surgeon and Managing Director of Aakash Healthcare, for voting knew no bounds. He also tried to diagnose the mood of the voters around and found a passion for better India coursing through them. Dr Chaudhry prescribes collective action for better health.
Dr Chaudhry says, ‘Arriving at the polling booth at 6:50 am, I felt an electrifying excitement in the air. By 7:00 am, over 100 voters were already in line, eager to exercise their right to vote. Seeing such enthusiasm from first-time voters to seasoned citizens is truly inspiring.’
He further added, ‘As a doctor, I believe in the power of collective action for better health, and today, I saw that same passion for a better India. This commitment to democracy signifies a bright future for our nation.’
Delhi voted today for its 7 parliamentary seats. All seven seats were captured by BJP in previous two parliamentary elections in 2014 and 2019, though the party came a cropper in consecutive two previous assembly elections in which AAP party had had a landslide victory. The duality of voters’ preference in Delhi is quite interesting. In previous two parliamentary elections charismatic leader PM Modi swayed voters while in assembly elections, AAP leader and jailed CM Arvind Kejriwal proved darling of the voters. One interesting aspect of vote this time is that CM Arvind Kejriwal has been released from Tihar jail for campaigning.
In parliamentary elections voters of Delhi vote for the nation transcending local situations. The Congress in between seems to have lost its moorings among voters, though people of Delhi remember three time on a trot Congress CM late Smt Sheela Dikshit’s rule and dubs her a very successful CM of Delhi
