Ameera Shah, Prima Donna of Pathology, makes it to Powerful Healthcare Club NATHEALTH

New Delhi:  She came, she saw and she conquered- This classic line aptly sums up the meteoric rise and shine of 44 year old Ameera Shah, Promoter &MD of Metropolis Healthcare, multinational chain of pathology labs and diagnostic centers. Her incessant strides in the healthcare realm finally nestled her in the league of likes of Abhay Soi, the mover and shaker of healthcare domain when General Meeting of NATHEALTH, a club of powerful health stalwarts, picked Ameera Shah up on April 3 as its Senior Vice president.

In NATHEALTH under Abhay Soi, Chairman and Managing Director, Max Healthcare Institute Limited, Ameera Shah will rub shoulder with Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals group as NATHEALTH Vice President, Dr Om Prakash Manchanda, Managing Director, Dr Lal PathLabs as treasurer et al.

Radiant Ameera shah was hardly upward of 20 when she took up the baton of Metropolis Healthcare in 2001 and never looked back, proving herself the leading lady of healthcare biz in no time. The panache with which she took strides underlined her innate self- assurance. It was a risk ridden leap of faith when she made bold to take huge debt to transform the fledgling Metropolis into a world class pathology chain. Three rounds of investment from PE investors was indeed a big risk but, undaunted, she kept her pace ahead and in 2015 she acquired a majority stake in Metropolis. It was indeed stuff of a roller coaster ride. But, given her sharp business acumen, she traversed the choppy waters of healthcare business with elan. She kept pushing the envelope.

The rest is history. Ameera Shah now is giving her competitors in the domain a run for their money. As world is her oyster, she has metamorphosed Metropolis into only multinational chain of diagnostic centers with presence in Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, Mauritius, Tanzania and Ghana. As she does not rest on her laurels, many more milestones must be awaiting her. Well embellished with honors like Young Global Leader of World Economic Forum, Fortune India’s Most Powerful Woman in Business, Forbes India’s Tycoons of Tomorrow, EY Entrepreneur of The Year 2022,  Ameera must have many more plans up her sleeve.

On being elected as Senior Vice President of NATHEALTH, Ameera Shah said, “In the dynamic healthcare landscape, driven by technology and evolving patient needs, digital health solutions offer unprecedented opportunities for innovation. The private sector is today presented with a chance to lead growth and drive social impact through proactive digital transformation. Our focus should be on expanding the overall health capacity through advanced technologies to improve healthcare access, efficiency and quality. Our diversity is our strength and NATHEALTH will continue to harness best expertise and domain experience in the healthcare sector for collective efforts towards achieving universal health coverage. I am honoured to continue shaping our nation’s healthcare future as part of the LT. My heartfelt gratitude to NATHEALTH for entrusting me with this responsibility again, and I eagerly anticipate this journey of transformation and impact.”
