International wake up Call for Sleep Disorders in Children

A Symposium organized in Delhi focused on Advances in Pediatric Sleep Medicine

New Delhi: An international symposium named ‘Kinderschlaf’25’ in Delhi focused on sleep disorders among children and served as a wake call for families battling with such problems. Homeopathy was underlined as a major intervention in tackling these issues. Collaboration between homeopathy and other medical sciences was stressed for best results in tackling pediatric sleep disorders.

The tri nation (India, Brazil and Germany) symposium centered on the theme ‘Current advances in paediatric sleep medicine: Integrating global Medical Perspectives.’ The paediatric sleep awareness symposium was held at The Ocean Pearl Retreat, New Delhi, bringing together experts these nations to discuss advances in paediatric sleep medicine.

The event featured selected student research posters and aimed to strengthen international cooperation in paediatric sleep health.

The aim of the symposium was to facilitate knowledge exchange among experts from India, Brazil and Germany and to strengthen international collaboration in paediatric sleep health and research. 60 students representing institutions with an interest in paediatric health participated as audience. The 2025 edition Kinderschlaf’25 included technical sessions and expert presentations on paediatric sleep disorders covering current clinical developments, research advancements and global health implications.

National and international eminent speakers included Dr Avi Sharma (), Dr Kanchan Upreti, Prof. Dr. med Ekkehart Paditz, Dr Med Oleksandr Shevchenko, Dr Hrudananda Mallick (president, Indian Society for sleep research), Gagan Johar, Dr Manjari Upreti, Prof.med.SilkeWeber and Prof. Dr Michael Frass. The symposium was jointly organized by Hahnemann Homeo Clinic , New Delhi, Dr Kanchan Cures (New Delhi, DGSM ( German Sleep Society, Germany,, Indian society for  Sleep Research  (New Delhi), Zentrum Fur Angewandte Pravention (Germany), Academia Brasileira do Soni(Brazil).

Sleep medicine is a field focused on diagnosing and treating sleep problems in children. Children have sleep issues which include insomnia, sleep apnea, narcolepsy and excessive daytime sleepiness. It is crucial for over all child health and involves a multidisciplinary approach with sleep specialists and paeditricians. Treatment can range from life style and behavioral guidance for families to using medication or conducting sleep studies.
