Kushinagar News: Truck Was Traveling From Ghaziabad To Agartala, Mystery Revealed When It Overturned

Case of codeine syrup being hidden among sugar sacks in a truck.

After receiving the documents, the pharmaceutical department sent them to Ghaziabad and Agartala and started investigation.

Kushinagar/Rahsu Bazaar. The truck that overturned near Madhuriya police post in Turkpatti police station area, loaded with sugar sacks and codeine syrup, was on its way from Ghaziabad to Agartala, the capital of Tripura. In it, about 200 cartons of codeine syrup were being hidden among the sacks of sugar.

The departure of this truck is said to be on 10th November. Documents related to this are being sought and investigation is being done by sending the truck to the place from where it started in Ghaziabad and where it was being taken to Agartala. The driver and the helper along with the truck are in the custody of the police.

A truck laden with sugar went out of control and overturned at around 8 pm on Sunday night, about a hundred steps away from Madhuriya police post on the National Highway in Turkpatti police station area. When Madhuriya outpost police reached the spot and investigated, they found a large quantity of medicine boxes along with sacks of sugar. The outpost in-charge informed the Excise Department as well as the Drug Department.

Drug Inspector Deepak Pandey reached the spot and started investigation. The truck driver could not show any bill in this regard. While about 200 cartons filled with codeine syrup were recovered along with sacks of sugar in the truck. Sugar sacks and cardboard boxes were not counted even on Sunday. The truck laden with sugar sacks and syrup cartons is in the possession of Turkpatti police station.

Even after about 18 hours of inquiry, the pharmaceutical department has not yet reached any conclusion in this regard. It is not known why such a large quantity of syrup was being carried hidden in sugar sacks.

Drug Inspector Deepak Pandey said that two documents were provided by the truck driver on Monday, according to which the truck had gone from Ghaziabad to Agartala on November 10. Their transportation bill has been sent to Ghaziabad and Agartala to check whether it is correct or not. Something can be said about this after the investigation is completed.
