Narcotic Injections And Tablets Worth Rs 31 Lakh Seized In A Major Police Action, Three Accused Arrested

Bilaspur: The police have made a big attack on drug dealers. Two accused who supplied narcotic injections and tablets in the city have been arrested and injections and tablets worth Rs 31 lakh have been seized. In this case, 9 members of the family including Shrishti Kurre and Godavari Kurre are already in jail.

SP Rajnesh Singh, while exposing the drug dealers, said that on 26.09.24, Mrs. Kalpana Kurre and a minor child were arrested while selling drugs. A total of 896 Nitrazepam Tablets IP (Nitrosun) were seized from both of them. A case was registered at Civil Line Police Station under Section 21, 22 of the Narcotics Act.

Similarly, on 22.10.24, Srishti Kurre was arrested with drugs. A total of 150 BUPRENORPHINE injection, REXOGESIC Ampoules were seized from her possession. When the accused in both the cases were questioned, it was found that they used to order the drugs, Ampoules and Tablets from Vikrant Sarkar and Ravishankar Markam, residents of Raipur, through parcels.

After this, when the search for both of them began, information was received from informers and technical evidence that. Both the accused were coming  to Bilaspur to drop narcotic injections and tablets . Raid action was taken on the information.

Sarkar and his partner Ravishankar Markam were caught with a Tata electric four-wheeler. On searching the Tata Punch, a total of 2150 tablets worth about 11 lakh rupees and a total of 23648 ampoules worth about 20 lakh rupees were seized. Police have also seized a Tata Punch electronic car worth about 10 lakh rupees and 02 mobile phones from the accused.
Police said that Vikrant Sarkar has more than one lakh followers on social media and he is a resident of Raipur. Medical professionals are also involved in this illegal trade of banned medicines. The police is searching for him.

Accused Vikrant Sarkar and Ravishankar Markam have been arrested in crime number 1004/24 section 21, 22 narcotics of police station Civil Line and presented in the court.

The accused are being questioned regarding the narcotic material. During the investigation of the case, financial investigation is being done regarding the arrested accused and the people involved and information is also being collected about the property illegally acquired from the drug business.

Information about other people involved in the drug business will be collected and end-to-end action will be taken against them as well.

Seized material: –

  1. Tablets total 23648 pieces worth about 20 lakh rupees,
    ampoules 2150 pieces worth about 11 lakh rupees.
  2. One Tata Punch electronic car worth about 10 lakh rupees.
  3. One iPhone and 02 other Android phones worth about 1.5 lakh rupees.

Total seized material worth about 42 lakh rupees.
