STF Arrested Person Who Brought Fake Medicines From Himachal And Haryana

Agra:  Fake medicines are coming to Agra from Himachal and Haryana. STF arrested Anurag Kaushal of Kasganj with fake medicines from Sanjay Place on Tuesday night. Cartons full of fake medicines have been recovered from the accused.

On October 5, 2024, the Food Safety and Drug Administration team had taken samples from Ganeshay Enterprises from Masta Ki Bagichi of Rohit Balecha, a wholesale drug dealer, which failed the test. Rohit Balecha disclosed the name of Anurag Kaushal of Kasganj during interrogation.

During interrogation by STF, Anurag Kaushal said that he used to get these medicines from Deepak Amouli of Shimla Himachal, and Rohit Sachdeva of Karnal Haryana. During interrogation of the accused, the names of Sandeep of Sonipat Haryana and Piyush Phapala of Aligarh came to the fore.

The accused was running a Jan Aushadhi Center

During interrogation by STF, accused Anurag Kaushal told that he was running Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Main Market Aliganj, Etah. He got its license in the year 2018. His license was cancelled in the year 2023. He was purchasing fake medicines under the guise of Jan Aushadhi Kendra and selling them in Agra and Aligarh for the last three years.

The accused used to get the medicines from the roadways bus

The accused said that he did not bring the goods himself from Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. He used to get the medicines from there to Kasganj by roadways buses. In return, he used to give up to two thousand rupees to the driver-conductor. This made it easy to get and send the goods.

STF Inspector Hukum Singh said that the accused Rohit was taking back his goods from Balecha’s wholesale shop. 1050 tablets of Gro-250 (Amoxicillin Capsule IP 250 mg) have been recovered from the accused. The batch number of the recovered medicine is the same as the sample taken from the wholesale shop located at Masta Ki Bagichi on October 5 which had failed. A case has been registered against the accused in Hariparwat police station.
