The Cancer medicines found to have passed will be re-tested

New Delhi: Delhi government ‘s Drugs Control Dept had taken samples recently to check the quality of medicines. About 75 of them were found to have passed the tests, but the health department is not satisfied with the report. Therefore, preparations are being made to get the samples of these medicines tested again.

Sources in the department say that the government is still suspicious about the tests. Therefore, testing can be done from another lab.

Actually, in the recent past, fake medicines were caught several times in Delhi, which also included medicines used in the treatment of cancer. After this, the Drugs Control Dept officials collected about 160 samples from private medicine shops and pharmacies. Out of these, 127 were cancer medicines. Sources say that the complete report has not come yet, but out of all the medicines whose reports have come, 75 medicines were found to have passed the tests. Now the quality of these medicines found to be correct will be checked again, so that it can be confirmed that the medicines available in the market are completely safe and effective.

For information, let us tell you that a few days ago, the entire chain of the racket which sold a mixture of churan, chalk and food supplements in the form of tablets, capsules and injections as life saving medicines of branded companies is being investigated. The value of the recovered fake medicine consignment has been ascertained from the branded companies, if it was sold as original, the accused would have earned up to Rs 1 crore 5 lakh. The rate of machines used for making and packing fake medicines recovered from the factories has been estimated to be between Rs 40-50 lakh.
