Dubai’s Dr Azad Moopen showers healthcare bounty on Kerala

The ‘Son of the Soil’ announces more Healthcare Projects for his home state

Dubai/New Delhi: It never rains but pours. Replicating this saying, Dubai’s NRI benign health honcho, Dr. Azad Moopen also pours for Kerala, his and God’s own country.

His are God’s own hospitals for his native state. On Thursday, he announced yet another bout of healthcare projects for the state. Dr. Moopen, Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, unveiled the Group’s plan of 2 more hospital projects in Kerala located in Kannur and Trivandrum. He said that the group is also evaluating a proposal to set up a Children’s Hospital in Kochi .

Padma Shree, Dr. Azad said, ‘This will add another 1099 beds. Aster already has 2,480 beds in their four hospitals in Kerala with 4764 employees and is thus one among the largest private sector healthcare player in the state.

Dr. Harish Pillai, Cluster Head for Kerala & CEO Aster Medcity, said, ‘Aster DM Healthcare is a home grown entity that is fully committed to the State of Kerala and the announcement of these projects shows our constant endeavor to improve healthcare services for the community .”

Aster MIMS at Kannur and Aster Capital at Thiruvananthapuram are in different stages of construction and planning. The proposal for the new 150 bed Aster Children’s Hospital in Kochi is in planning and conceptualization stage and will be located within the Aster Medcity campus, rated as best hospital in Asia Pacific by Amitabh Kant, Niti Ayog’s CEO.

A great humanitarian, Dr. Moopen is doing yeoman’s service for India, especially for Kerala, his home state. Not long ago, he unveiled Aster Volunteers Program in Delhi for sick and dying, which encompasses whole nation in his compassion.

The project work on the 200 bed multi-Speciality Aster MIMS at Chala , Kannur  is underway and is expected to be ready for launch by 2018. This shall serve the population of North Kerala.

Land has been acquired for the 749 bed Aster Capital  near Akkulam lake on NH 66 (old NH 47)  at Thiruvananthapuram , is proposed to be a  Multi-Speciality Hospital.  The expected date of completion is end of 2021.
