An Initiative taken by AYUSH to encourage Research area of Homoeopathy in India

Shri Shripad Yesso Naik,the Union Minister of State for AYUSH said few days back that indian government supporting the growth of the various departments of Homoeopathy and taking everything possible steps to promote research in and encourage new researchers to make India the leader in Research area of Homeopathy at the International Homoeopathic Conference organized by Karnataka Qualified Homoeopathic Doctors Association (KQHDA) in Bengaluru.

The popularity of Homoeopathy medicines are increasing day by day in the India and to encourage its popularity, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik inaugurated India’s first State of art virology laboratory at dr. Anjali Chatterjee Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy in Kolkata today. This laboratory established at a cost of Rs. 8 crores to develop and research new drugs and technologies in Homoeopathy to fight rising challenges of diseases caused by viruses like Japanese encephalitis, dengue,  influenza, chikungunya and swine flu. Naik said he is satisfied because of the recognition was given by the Calcutta University to this laboratory to undertake research work of the PhD students in Homoeopathy.

The AYUSH minister, in his inaugural address, appreciated NIH(National Institute of Homoeopathy) providing training and high education in homoeopathy. Both, the institute and laboratory will share an active collaboration on practical training to the learners and researchers to do virus research, both in the laboratory and in the field jointly.

Naik is also happy to share that a Centre of Excellence has been established for Fundamental Research in Homoeopathy at IIEST, Howrah. This centre will work to undertake fundamental research studies in homoeopathy with an interdisciplinary approach. Several clinical research studies have been made in this institute like autism, psoriasis, vitiligo, breast cancer, hypertension, migraine etc. along with proving of new drugs in homoeopathy with their clinical validations. About 400 patients are being treated daily through OPD services and AYUSH outreach services being provided in villages too.
