West Bengal STF Raid: Fake medicines recovered in the raid

Kolkata: The team of Special Task Force (STF) of West Bengal Police has busted a hideout manufacturing fake medicines of branded companies besides counterfeit drugs. Materials for making fake medicines worth more than Rs 1 crore have been seized from a factory manufacturing fake medicines of branded companies running secretly inside a vacant house located in Magra police station area of ​​Hooghly district. Apart from this, the machines used to make fake medicines and the chemicals used to make fake medicines have been confiscated. The STF has also informed the drug controller officer of the district about this. Here, after this incident, that house has been sealed.

How was it revealed?
STF sources say that on February 21, on the basis of secret information, the Bengal STF team had seized a truck loaded with drugs worth Rs 40 lakh on Kanchrapara-Gaighata Road. The driver of that truck, Upendra Kumar Mahato, a resident of Mangolane, Kolkata, was arrested. During interrogation of Upendra, it was revealed that he was taking these medicines to Bangaon area. After this it was to be sent to Bangladesh. During interrogation of Upendra, it was also revealed that there is a house situated in Magra police station area of ​​Hooghly district, whose main gate is always closed from outside. There is a big factory inside this house, in which apart from intoxicants, fake medicines of other branded companies are secretly being manufactured. From there he loaded the seized medicines worth Rs 40 lakh into the truck.

Police officers lost their senses as soon as they entered the house
Police sources say that after getting the information from Upendra, when they went to the said house in Magra area of ​​Hooghly district, they found a machine for making fake drugs, plastic boxes, labels of branded companies and many types of powders and chemicals. Was confiscated. After this information, the police seized the chemicals and powder used to make fake medicines worth about Rs 1 crore and other materials present in that warehouse. After this the entire warehouse and house have been sealed. No one was found present there at the time of the raid. The STF team is now continuously conducting raids to reach other members of this gang.
