ASM International: A Landmark New Chapter in Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ)

Visakhapatnam: In a landmark development for the medical technology and materials science sectors, ASM International, formerly known as the American Society for Metals, has inaugurated its Vizag Chapter at Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ).

The ceremony was graced by Pradeep Goyal, Former President of ASM International and Chairman and Managing Director of Pradeep Metals, and Dr. Navin Manjooran, President of ASM International and Chairman of Solve, Florida.

The establishment of the ASM Vizag Chapter marks a significant step forward in strengthening the metallurgy community in Visakhapatnam and across Andhra Pradesh. This initiative aims to create valuable opportunities for manufacturers, businesses, consumers, and students by fostering a collaborative platform dedicated to advancing materials science in the medtech sector.

ASM International is a globally renowned organization committed to materials science and engineering, encompassing a wide array of domains such as metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites. Through its extensive network, ASM facilitates technological innovation via conferences, workshops, and educational programs.

“This is a historic day for ASM. Rarely does a chapter begin with 100 members right from its inception,” remarked Pradeep Goyal, Former President of ASM International. “This unique collaboration will bring together professionals from the fields of materials science and medical technology to achieve remarkable synergies.”

The ASM Vizag Chapter is envisioned as a vital bridge between academia, industry, and healthcare innovation. It will play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge material solutions for medical devices and diagnostics. A robust program of workshops, conferences, and technical sessions will help position Vizag as a key hub for materials research and development, contributing to sustainable advancements in medtech on a global scale.

“This society is purpose-driven, much like AMTZ itself,” stated Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Managing Director and Founder CEO of AMTZ. “We are privileged to host the ASM Vizag Chapter and are committed to making it one of the most globally vibrant chapters within ASM International.”

The launch of the Vizag Chapter not only underscores the importance of materials science in healthcare innovation but also reinforces AMTZ’s commitment to fostering a collaborative ecosystem that accelerates progress in medical technology. The ASM Vizag Chapter is poised to become a cornerstone for innovation and collaboration, setting new benchmarks in materials science and its applications in the medtech sector.
