Surgical Robot MantraM, First ‘Badge of Vishwaguru’ is on Triumphal March

‘Made in India’ Versatile Surgical Robot is stuff of Standing Ovation

Gurugram: The triumphal march of SSI MantraM, best in class surgical robot, first emblem of PM Modi’s ‘Vishwaguru’ dream, is evoking a great sense of glory and pride. Perched on a grand bus, call it ‘vijay rath’ if you will, it started off from Gurugram on July 2 and is on way to traverse 1500 kilometers in seven days.

After listing on NASDAQ with flair of a global leader not long ago, this India tour of ‘Made in India’ world class surgical robot Mantra is a proclamation loud and clear that ‘Vishwaguru’ has arrived. It is a rare occasion deserving the standing ovation of the whole of nation. The passing parade of ‘Make in India’ prodigy is a celebration of immense talent of Indian engineers and vision of Dr Sudhir Srivastava, robotic cardiac surgery maestro and maker of Mantra. This yatra is leaving a trail of inspiration for the whole country to reach for the stars.

SSI MantraM’s superiority is a fait accompli. It is now beyond compare in its versatility and magnanimity of social purpose. Such feat happens once in awhile in the life of a nation. And when it happens, the country has the occasion of showering applause on its icon. Mantra’s triumphal march is such rare occasion. When first heart transplant was done in AIIMS, the whole parliament gave a standing ovation to the man of the moment Dr Venugopal.

Dr Sudhir Srivastava deserves accolades of the same degree. Dream, which Dr Srivastava saw, not in sleep but when he was wide awake, drove him to this level of accomplishment, thanks to the timely ‘Make in India’ slogan of PM Narendra Modi. Dr Srivastava did not think twice and left his commanding position in USA to come to India. The dream that best robotic surgery should be accessible and affordable to every Indian was residing in his heart for ages.

SS Innovations, the maker of India’s first and only home-grown surgical robotic system, SSI Mantra, flagged off SSI Mantra M Yatra from its headquarters in Gurugram on July 2. The road show was ceremoniously inaugurated by Shri Rao Narbir Singh, Minister for Industries & Commerce, Government of Haryana. With this, India embarked on a transformative journey in healthcare, unveiling its first mobile robotic surgery training and demonstration unit. This innovative “telesurgery-on-wheels” initiative brings cutting-edge surgical technology and skill-building opportunities directly to hospitals and healthcare professionals across the country.

Developed indigenously, the unit is equipped to enable real-time collaboration and demonstrate the advanced features and capabilities of the SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System. Through live simulations, interactive training modules, and guided demonstrations, it offers surgeons, medical students, and healthcare stakeholders a first-hand experience. This initiative marks a significant step toward increasing awareness and acceptance of robotic surgery in India—particularly by making cutting-edge surgical technologies more accessible to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

As part of its first leg through Rajasthan, the SSI Mantra M Yatra on July 3&4 reached SMS Medical College, Jaipur, featuring live demonstrations and interactive training sessions for both the medical fraternity. Later in the afternoon on July 4th , the MantraM moved to AIIMS Jodhpur. The yatra will participate in the RUFCON until July 6th. On the July 6th evening, it will proceed to Mathura Das Mathur Medical College for more sessions on July 7. The Rajasthan leg will conclude on July 8 with a final showcase at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Ajmer, before returning to Gurugram.

Speaking on the occasion of flag-off Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, Founder Chairman & CEO of SS Innovations, said, “SSI MantraM is more than just a mobile robotic training and demonstration unit, it is a national movement to democratise and decentralise access to world-class surgical education and innovation. As it embarks on its multi-city roadshow, it showcases India’s indigenous strength in surgical robotics while breaking geographic barriers to healthcare. Designed to reach underserved and remote regions, the unit is equipped with advanced telecommunication capabilities and is undergoing ongoing research and development for future satellite connectivity, making it future-ready for real-time telesurgeries, even in the most inaccessible parts of the country. At present, the roadshow serves as a first-hand exposure platform, offering doctors and healthcare professionals an opportunity to engage directly with the SSI Mantra system through live demonstrations, hands-on training, and interactive sessions. More than a technological showcase, SSI MantraM offers a vision of a future where advanced robotic surgery is accessible and inclusive, reaffirming SS Innovations’ mission to transform healthcare- one city and one life at a time.”

Shri. Rao Narbir Singh Hon’ble Minister for Industries & Commerce, Govt of Haryana, said, “It is a matter of immense pride that Haryana is home to SS Innovations, a company leading India’s charge in the global field of surgical robotics. It is a shining example of our country’s technological and medical innovation.”

In course of covering over 1,500 kilometres, the first leg of the Yatra will offer transformative training and learning opportunities to more than 500 doctors across Rajasthan, furthering SSI Innovations’ mission to democratize access to advanced surgical technologies in India.
