22 medical stores raided in Hisar, 7 stocked dual-use drugs without records

Hisar: Police and drug control teams raided 22 medical stores across Hisar district in a crackdown on misuse of medicines as intoxicants. Seven outlets were found stocking dual-use drugs without proper records, while registered pharmacists were absent at three stores, officials said.

Teams of 11 drug control officers from eight districts, along with police, inspected stores in Barwala, Uklana, Adampur, Agroha and Hisar city. They checked stocks and mandatory purchase, sale and stock records, and collected 14 medicine samples for testing.

The licensing authority will initiate action under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act against violators. SP Siddhant Jain said surprise joint inspections would continue based on local information and strict action would be taken against those facilitating misuse of medicines.
