The multispecialty hospital launches Nanak Charitable OPD in Dwarka to Improve Access to Eye Care

New Delhi: Aakash Healthcare eyes people of community around it as its own responsibility to keep essential healthcare services including eyecare accessible to them. Launch of Nanak Charitable OPD offering eyecare and general physician consultations so that people could keep illnesses at bay. It will greatly improve their access to essential healthcare services and reinforces hospital’s commitment to community welfare.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Pawan Rathi, Chief Guest, former Municipal Councillor, Madhu Vihar, and former General Secretary, Mehrauli District BJP, and Dr. J.C. Chaudhry, Guest of Honour, Chairman Emeritus, AHPL Group and Founder of Char Dham Mandir, Vrindavan.

The clinic will offer OPD consultations at Rs.100, with laboratory investigations, radiology services and eye care surgeries available at government (CGHS) rates. Cataract surgery will start at Rs.4,999, making essential eye care more accessible to the community.

Eye care remains a critical healthcare need, while a general physician often serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking medical advice, early diagnosis and timely treatment. Through the Nanak Charitable OPD, Aakash Healthcare seeks to support the community by making these essential services more accessible.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Aashish Chaudhry, Managing Director, Aakash Healthcare, said, “Healthcare is not just about treating illness; it is also about taking responsibility for the well-being of the community we serve. We believe that giving back to society is an integral part of our purpose. Through the Nanak Charitable OPD, we aim to make essential eye care and general physician consultations more accessible and encourage people to seek medical attention in a timely manner.”

Emphasising the importance of timely eye care, Dr. Prashaant Chaudhry, Senior Consultant – Ophthalmology, Aakash Healthcare, said, “Regular eye check-ups and timely treatment are essential to preserving vision. Through this initiative, we hope to make eye care more accessible and encourage people to seek help before vision problems affect their daily lives.”

Highlighting the role of primary healthcare, Dr. Sahil Kapoor, Senior Consultant – Family Medicine and Wellness Expert, Aakash Healthcare, said, “Affordable access to a general physician can help people address health concerns early rather than wait for symptoms to worsen. We hope this initiative encourages timely consultations and better everyday health management.”

Dr. J.C. Chaudhry, Chairman Emeritus, AHPL Group, said, “Accessible healthcare is fundamental to building a healthier society. Initiatives like the Nanak Charitable OPD reflect the importance of extending care beyond hospital walls and reaching people at the community level. I commend this effort to make essential medical services more accessible and encourage a culture of care, compassion and social responsibility.”

Shri Pawan Rathi, Chief Guest, said, “Community welfare begins with addressing the everyday needs of people, and healthcare is among the most important of these. A charitable OPD that brings eye care and general physician consultations closer to the community is a meaningful step towards ensuring that more people can seek medical guidance when they need it. Such initiatives deserve encouragement and support.”

The launch reflects Aakash Healthcare’s continued focus on community-oriented healthcare and its belief that hospitals have a responsibility to contribute to society beyond clinical services. As an established multispecialty hospital in Dwarka, Aakash Healthcare remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote accessible healthcare, compassion and community well-being.
