In order to promote the medicinal plant sector, the Government of India has set up National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) on 24th November 2000. Currently the board is located in Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy), Government of India.
The primary mandate of NMPB is to develop an appropriate mechanism for coordination between various ministries/ departments/ organizations in India and implements support policies/programs for overall (conservation, cultivation, trade and export) growth of medicinal plants sector both at the Central /State and International level.
Post: Deputy Director (Medicinal Plants), Assistant Advisor (Botany)
Applications are invited for filling up the following vacant posts on deputation (including short-term contract) basis in the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi, as per details mentioned below
Deputy Director (Medicinal Plants)
Eligibility Conditions, Experience etc, for filling up of the post on Deputation Basis (including short-term contract basis)
Officers under the Central or State Governments or Union Territories or Universities or recognised Research Institutions or Public Sector Undertakings or semi-Government or autonomous bodies or statutory organisations:
(a) (i) holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or
(ii) with five years regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in the scale of pay of Rs. 15,600-39,100 + Grade Pay Rs. 6600 ( Revised Pay Matrix Rs. 67,700-2,08,700 in Level-11 in Seventh Pay Commission) in the parent cadre or department; and;
(b) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:
Essential
(i). Master’s degree in Botany or Pharmacognosy or Agriculture or Agronomy or Forestry from a recognized University or Institute or equivalent; and
(ii) ten years post qualification experience of working in the areas of research, development, policy, programmes arid implementation relating to medicinal plants in a government department or organisation or institute of repute.
Desirable
(i) Philosophical Doctorate in concerned discipline from a recognised University or Institute or equivalent.
(ii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.
Pay Scale :Pay Matrix Rs.78,800 – 2,09,200 in Level-12
Note:-
Period of deputation (including short-term contract) including period of deputation(including short-term contract) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organisation or department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed four years. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be not exceeding fifty-six years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Assistant Advisor (Botany)
Eligibility Conditions, Experience etc, for filling up of the post on Deputation Basis (including short-term contract basis)
(a) (i) holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre/department; or
(ii) with five years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the scale of pay of Rs.8,000-13,500 (Revised Pay Matrix Rs. 53,100-1,67,800 in Level-9 in Seventh Pay Commission) or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; or
(iii) with eight years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the Scale of pay of Rs.6,500-10,500 (Revised Pay Matrix Rs.35,400-1,12,400 in Level-6 in Seventh Pay Commission) or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; and
(b) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:
Essential
(i) Master’s degree in Botany / Pharmacognosy from a recognised University or equivalent;
(ii) Five years’ experience of working in the field of development of propagation of medicinal plants, particularly used in Ayurveda, Unani and Homoeopathy.
Desirable
(i) Ph.D (Botany/Pharmacognosy) from a recognized University/institute or equivalent.
(ii) Published Research Work.
Pay Scale :Pay Matrix Rs. 67,700 – 2,08,700 in Level-11
Note:-
Period of deputation (including short-term contract) including period of deputation(including short-term contract) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organisation or department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed three years.
The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be not exceeding fifty-six years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
