Jab ready Sir Ganga Ram Hospital

New Delhi: True to its tradition, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is always battle ready. Mass Covid Vaccination is no different. The hospital is poised for Covishield vaccination from tomorrow.

With office of District Magistrate confirming supply of Covishield Vaccines, SGRH is all set for vaccination drive starting tomorrow, initially for its healthcare workers (HCWs) and thereafter as per directions of the Government.

According to Dr. D S Rana , Chairman(BOM), SGRH, ” Vaccination will commence after the nationwide inauguration of Vaccination Program by the Hon’ble Prime Minister and  will include 100 HCW including a mix of  doctors,  nurses and paramedical staff.”

To begin with 100 HCWs will be given vaccinated on 16 January 2021.  Subsequently the numbers will be scaled up. The national capital is poised for roll out of COVID vaccination from Saturday. The inoculation drive will be launched from LNJP hospital with a simple ceremony. Over 8 thousand healthcare workers will be given jab every scheduled day.81 centres will be part of the drive. Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is one of them.

Delhi govt has received a total of 2.74 lakh doses of the vaccine from the centre. This number will cover 1.2 lakh health workers. Every healthcare worker will get two doses. It is beginning of the world’s biggest inoculation to cover three crore of its frontline workers.  In the first phase, two home grown vaccines Covishield and Covaxin will injected to priority groups. Over one crore people have already been infected in India so far and upward of them have died.
