Fake Medicine Being Sold At AIIMS Gate, Sample Failed

Rae Bareli : Counterfeit medicine are also being sold near the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). In the Testing by the Government Analytical Laboratory, Lucknow, a drug has been found to be spurious. In the testing, cefaxim salt was not found in the medicine, while the company claimed to have cefaxim in the medicine.

After the testing report, the Drug Inspector was asked to provide bills in relation to the medicine by giving notice to the shopkeeper by restricting the sale of the concerned batch of medicine.

Drug Inspector Shivendra Pratap Singh had drawn a sample of MISF-200 MB (batch number-CLB 45696) tablet from Shakuntala Medical Store near AIIMS in the month of February and sent it to the laboratory for testing. The expiry of this medicine is December 2024. The drug inspector said that the drug test report arrived on Monday. Cefixime and lactobacillus salt have been claimed in the medicine, but in the laboratory test, cefixime salt has not been found in the medicine. For this reason the drug has been declared spurious.

The DI said that by giving notice to the medical store operator, orders have been given to stop the sale of the medicine as well as to provide the bill regarding the medicine.

Other medical store operators have been instructed not to sell the medicine of the concerned batch. After completing the investigation of the case, a case will be filed in the ACJM court.
