At approximately 03:30 AM, the Border Out Post Dayarampur troops noticed suspicious activity in their area of responsibility. Smugglers were spotted moving towards the international border with bags in their hands. Despite being warned by the troops, the smugglers continued to move forward. The troops fired a stun grenade, but the smugglers did not back down and instead started moving towards the troops with sharp weapons. In response, the jawan fired three rounds in the air from his rifle considering the potential danger posed by smugglers. The smugglers, intimidated by the gunfire, fled taking advantage of darkness, leaving behind a bag containing 1440 Phensedyl bottles.

The seized bottles were handed over to Police Station Jalangi for further legal action.

The spokesperson of BSF, South Bengal Frontier expressed satisfaction over the success of the jawans and appreciated them for their vigilant display of duty. He urged the public not to engage in smuggling and declared that BSF jawans would not allow any kind of crime to occur on the border.
