New Delhi: Sir Ganga Ram Hospital’s Robotic Surgery Department has batted a thousand, achieving a great landmark by successfully completing 100 Robotic Surgeries. The number pulled off in bare six months makes this hospital a cut above the rest in Asia Pacific region for being fastest to reach this milestone. As this hospital does not rest on its laurels, the robotic department is poised to set many a new standards like this.
Hugo Robotic System is quite a new installation in the hospital. The speed highlights department’s versatility in handling a wide array of robotic surgeries across all medical specialties. Dr Ajay Sharma, Director of Robotic Surgery said, ‘we got the installation of this new system in April 2023 and within first 6 months we are able to cross the three figure mark.’
