Contraband Syrup Seized, Two Arrested In 48 Hours

Sonamura: In separate operations, Sonamura and Jatrapur police seized phensedyl worth Rs. 10 lakh and arrested two persons in this connection over the past 48 hours.

Besides, Jatrapur police also recovered three stolen motorcycles.

During an anti-drug drive, Sonamura police seized 550 bottles of phensedyl from the house of Shafiqul Islam at Ghatigarh village of Kamalnagar and arrested him. He was also produced before the court on Thursday and remanded to three-day police remand.

On the other hand, Jatrapur police with the help of BSF personnel seized 400 bottles of cough syrup and three stolen motorcycles from various locations.

In another raid, police seized 150 bottles of contraband syrup from the house of Shafiq Miah at Shalpukur area and arrested the house owner. He was also produced before the court.
