Fazilka Police arrests 4 persons with 2.10 lakh intoxicant tablets and Rs 1.70 lakh drug money

FAZILKA: While intensifying its fight against drugs, Fazilka Police claimed to have has arrested 4 people with 2.10 lakh prohibited intoxicant tablets and Rs 1.70 lakh drug money on Wednesday. Giving information, Varinder Singh Brar, SSP, Fazilka said during a routine checking of vehicles by a team consisting of Inspector Sachin, Station House Officer, Jalalabad City, Amarjit Kaur, SHO, Sadar Jalalabad police station and Paramjit Kumar, SHO, CIA staff, Fazilka, got an information that Raju Ram, a resident of Udaneo Ke under Falaudi police station in Rajasthan and his associates involved in the smuggling of intoxicant tablets in the area are selling the prohibited tablets being transported in a truck (RJ 07-GD-6412).

On raiding the spot, the police team recovered 2.10 Lakh prohibited tablets of Alprazolam and Clobidol tablets from the truck, besides 1.70 Lakh drug money, a Balero vehicle and a motorcycle was also recovered from the spot. The police has arrested 4 accused and on their statement a case under NDPS Act has been registered against 10 accused involved in the cartel.

“Fazilka police has been working hard to dismantle the illegal pharma drug cartel and to trace other past links,” said Brar adding that Police has been working resolutely in its fight against organized crime and drug trafficking.
