Bihar Healthcare is poised to be embraced by Robotic Surgery Mantra

Prodigal ‘Surgeon’ Son returns from London to put Bihar on Robotic Surgery Map

New Delhi: Bihar healthcare may be on the cusp of being cutting edge as prospect of its transformation by robotic surgeries seems imminent.  SSI Mantra, ‘Made in India’ surgical robot may come handy in making the state push the envelope. Being affordable for all particularly makes this best in class surgical robot fit the bill. Ayushman Bharat and Saat Nischay (seven resolves) like schemes can well propel this surgical turnaround of the state.

A young and dashing ‘London returned’ Bihari surgeon Dr Bipin Jha is raring to lead this potential transformation of the state‘s healthcare from the front. He harbors the ambition of making Patna, state’s capital, a hub of best robotic surgeries. Talking to Dhananjay Kumar, Managing Editor, Medicare news, Dr Jha, being with United Kingdom’s NHS (National Health Service) for 12 years, even had the nerve to talk of reverse medical tourism. To envision patients coming to Patna for surgeries from Nepal and other countries may sound a long shot but the force of Dr Jha’s determination (Nishchay) raises hope. Dr Jha, an accomplished colorectal and general surgeon, has been harboring this ambition, seemingly over the top, for ages but the question of cost always proved a stumbling block so far. But now that SSI Mantra has ignited his long subdued yearning, he is ready to roll the dice. The fact was the surgical robot, before SSI Mantra dawned on the scene, was prohibitively expensive.

Dr Jha pins his hopes on Ayushman Bharat scheme, Bihar health policy and investment in healthcare under the Saat Nischay ( Seven Resolves) program for fruition of his cutting edge dream. Dr Jha, who has come back from London after taking advanced robotic surgery training not long ago, said, ‘I have set sights on robotic surgery in Bihar for quite a while. SSI Mantra now can be my secret weapon that will surely go a long way in making my vision a reality.  SSI Mantra being affordable firms up my ‘Nischaya’.  Ayushman Bharat scheme has immense potential to drive this transformative goal. I will pull out all the stops to fulfill my robotic surgery dream for Bihar. As surgical robot is best tool for surgery, people of Bihar must be in a position to take advantage of it closer home.”

Dr Jha adds further, ‘Promoting Robotic Surgery here will mean Bihar’s leap towards Advanced Healthcare. Bihar, as one of India’s most populous states, is witnessing a transformative phase in its healthcare sector. With rapid urbanization, growing awareness, and increasing demand for high-quality medical services, the introduction and promotion of robotic surgery in Bihar hold immense potential to revolutionize healthcare delivery. Robotic surgery, a cutting-edge technology that enhances precision, minimizes invasiveness, and improves patient outcomes, can bridge the gap between Bihar’s healthcare aspirations and global standards.’

‘India’s very own surgical robotic system SSI Mantra has been a game changer. Democratizing robotic surgery by reducing cost and improving affordability have been prime focus of the SSI Mantra. SSI Mantra journey has very well begun in India and abroad. Bihar must hop on the bandwagon’, added Dr Jha.
