Fake medicines worth Rs 2.13 crore recovered from Himanshu Agarwal’s warehouse, case registered

Agra:  The FSDA and STF are conducting operations in Agra’s drug market. Another case has been registered in this matter on Wednesday. The team has found fake medicines worth Rs 2.13 crore from Himanshu Agarwal’s warehouse. This case has been registered by the drug inspector.

A major raid was conducted on Hema Medico located in Moti Katra in the heart of the city late on Sunday night. A joint team of STF and FSDA raided the place and recovered 15 sacks of fake medicines. The value of the recovered goods is estimated to be around Rs 2.13 crore.

The seized medicines include high demand medicines like Rosuvas-20, Rosuvas-40 and Allegra-120. A total of 46,650 strips of these were recovered. The companies Sun Pharma and Sanofi confirmed that these medicines are fake.

During investigation it was revealed that an interstate network of fake drugs was working. These were being supplied to many states including Bihar and Bengal.

Firm owner Himanshu Agarwal has already been arrested and sent to jail. Along with Himanshu, Raja alias A.K. Rana (Meenakshi Pharma, Pondicherry), Vicky Babu (New Baba Medico, Lucknow) and Subhash Babu (Parvati Traders) have been named in the case.

On the complaint of the drug inspector, a case has been registered in MM Gate police station under serious sections. Sections 318(2) 318(4), 61(2), 111, 341(1) have been imposed. The police and the drug department team are now engaged in searching for the remaining links of this gang.
