Vibrant Gujarat regional conference to showcase North Gujarat’s pharma sector strength: Gujarat govt

Gandhinagar:  North Gujarat accounts for 12% of the state’s pharmaceuticals manufacturing output, and this sector will be showcased in the Vibrant Gujarat regional conference (VGRC) for the region that will be held in Mehsana next month, said the state govt on Monday.

Mehsana presents significant opportunities in the manufacturing of bulk drugs, APIs, intermediates, and formulations, supported by established companies, stated an official statement, adding: “Patan district complements this with a robust base of pharma MSMEs specialising in injectables and formulations. The district is also witnessing promising growth in the medtech sector, driven by enterprises involved in the manufacturing of vascular interventional devices and essential medical equipment such as hospital trolleys and stretchers.”

North Gujarat is emerging as a region with advanced educational infrastructure. The region is home to institutions such as the Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society (GMERS) medical colleges in Mehsana, Patan, and Sabarkantha districts; Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University in Patan; Gokul Global University in Siddhpur; SK Patel College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research at Ganpat University in Mehsana’s Kherva taluka; Banas Medical College and Research Institute in Palanpur; Siddhpur Dental College and Hospital; and Arrdekta Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital in Khedbrahma.
