Dialysis at discounted rate facility

Pune: A facility to offer dialysis at the discounted rate of Rs400 would be made available at the Pune Municipal Corporation-run Balasaheb Thackeray hospital near Mitramandal Chowk.

The standing committee of the corporation PMC approved the proposal on Tuesday. “The facility aims at helping needy people as the market rate for dialysis is Rs1,200 to Rs1,800. Many citizens find it difficult to afford it. The civic body wants to extend the facility in different areas in the city,” said Yogesh Mulik, the civic body’s standing committee chairman.

A civic official said the facility was started in Rajiv Gandhi Hospital at Yerawada and Kamala Nehru Hospital at Mangalwar Peth earlier.
