Banned Cough Syrup Worth 13 Lakhs Brought From Pickup Seized

Hardoi : Sandi police have recovered 6300 bottles of a banned drug named Phensedyl from the pickup. It was being illegally brought in a pickup.

Its price in the market has been said to be around Rs 13 lakh. The youth smuggling drugs in many districts is a resident of Rae Bareilly district.

Additional Superintendent of Police Nripendra said that a special campaign is being run in the district to control crime. Under this, police station Sandi under the leadership of CO Bilgram has arrested the interstate drug smuggler.

Meanwhile, a pickup was seen coming. When an attempt was made to stop, the driver tried to drive away the pickup. Police laid siege and caught the pickup. During the investigation, 6300 bottles of medicine named Phensedyl were recovered from the pickup. It was told that it is a banned drug.

In police interrogation, he told his name as Diwakar Yadav. He is a resident of village Lodipur police station Lalganj Rae Bareli. He delivers these medicines to many districts including Rae Bareli, Lucknow, Sitapur, Fatehpur. Documents of recovered drugs were not found with the driver of the vehicle. Police are taking further action.

The whole matter was reported to the Drug Inspector. The drug inspector team reached the information and drew samples of the medicine. It is also said that it is also used as an intoxicant. At present, the police have now started action in the matter.
