COACH is the New Force for Greater Good of Patients in Indian Hospitals

New Delhi:  The question of Patient safety and quality of care in hospitals of India is morphing into an unprecedented mission. Three powerful health organizations have pooled together to pack a punch. COACH (Centre of Alliance for Collaborative Health) is the new force for ensuring greater good of patients and coaching hospitals towards optimizing quality of care and safety of patients.

COACH is a consortium of  healthcare organizations AHPI ( Association of Healthcare Providers {India}),   CAHO ( Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organization) &ANBAI ( Association of National Board of Accredited Institutions). The acronym COACH befittingly echoes the quintessence and purpose of coming together of these organizations.

The endorsement for COACH from Union Health Minister Sri J P Nadda makes this entente for ensuring patient safety in hospitals of India a force to reckon with. Dr Devy Shetty of Narayana Health fame being in sync with the arrangement speaks a volume about the credibility quotient of COACH. Dr Shetty is the Founding Patron of all the three organizations. The unique patient safety movement being run by CAHO is all set to get unprecedented momentum.

COACH launched itself early in the week in Delhi in the presence of  senior healthcare professionals both from Government and private sectors.  Mr Nadda, while endorsing the pact for patient, lauded the significant contributions the three organisations ANBAI, AHPI and CAHO. The shared leadership among ANBAI, AHPI, and CAHO has fostered successful informal collaborations on various initiatives. Primary goal is to formalize this collaborative approach and foster continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.

By uniting the strengths through the Centre of Alliance for Collaborative Health (COACH), ANBAI, AHPI, and CAHO will be able to advance patient safety, enhance quality standards, and improve regulatory practices. Together, COACH can become a powerful force in advocating for quality healthcare delivery, ensuring that it is accessible to all citizens.

This evolving structure, combining the synergy of younger leaders with the wisdom of the founders, will lead to a structured and effective alliance capable of driving meaningful change in the healthcare sector. This dynamic combination of experience and youth is vital while navigating the complexities of today’s healthcare landscape. By working together, the Centre of Alliance for Collaborative Health (COACH) can achieve far more, and transform healthcare for the better.
