Palwal : Yesterday the Haryana Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) teams of Palwal and Faridabad raided a fake cough syrup manufacturing factory operating in the house of Dheeraj Gupta in Khyali Enclave, Palwal, Haryana. The NCB team has recovered 3,087 Bottles from the factory. Two people have been arrested in this case. This racketeering was going on illegally.
Haryana Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Palwal and Faridabad in charge Inspector Satpal Singh said that no papers of operating factory could be shown. The house was rented for Rs 10000 per month.
Satpal Singh said that they were getting secret information for a long time that fake cough syrups were being made illegally in a house in Palwal. The raid was conducted after verifying the information. A stampede broke out in the factory during the raid, but the two personnel involved in the illegal operations were apprehended and taken into custody. Their identities are Pankaj Singla and Rajesh Jain, both of them are said to be residents of Palwal.
The team recovered 3087 filled of Onerex CC Syrup, 6000 empty Bottles, 2000 Printed Caps of Wings, 600-700 Labels of Onerex CC Syrup, Complete Raw material for Processing the syrup, two packing machines, two sealing machines, labelling machine and packing material.
Officials involved in the team said that the material for making spurious medicines has also been recovered from the factory. Syrups named Onerex CC were being prepared. Codeine phosphate is also written on the label. It comes in both narcotics. Officials involved in the team said that no license was taken for it. A case has been registered under the Drug Act.
An FIR under NDPS Act has been lodged against the persons manufacturing this Codeine containing cough Syrup.
