Govt Job: For Junior Research Fellow at RCB

The Regional Centre for Biotechnology is an institution of national importance and a statutory body established by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, with regional and global partnerships synergizing with the programs of UNESCO as a Category II Center.

The primary focus of RCB is to provide world-class education, and training and conduct innovative research at the interface of multiple disciplines to create high-quality human resources in disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of biotechnology in a globally competitive research milieu.

Post: Project JRF – 01 Post

No. of Positions: Three (Two positions in Plant Biology with Dr. Ramu S. Vemanna and Dr. Saikat Bhattacharjee & One position in Chemical Biology with Prof. Avinash Bajaj)

Title of Project: Nanogel-Mediated Gene Editing (CRISPR/Cas9) Technologies to Improve Crop Protection against Bacterial Leaf Blight in Rice.

Duration: Initially for one year, and can be extended on annual basis.

Essential Qualifications: MSc/MTech in Life Sciences / Biotechnology /Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/Bioinformatics/Genomics/Agriculture/Animal/Chemistry/Pharmacy or any other related subject, and National level JRF eligibility test such as NET, GATE, etc. qualified.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in plant molecular biology, biochemistry, protein isolation, purification and Co-IP, Confocal microscopy, gene editing techniques, mammalian cell culture, and chemical synthesis.

A candidate who has 1-year research experience working in a relevant area with expertise will be preferred.

Candidate should be motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, and a team player with good interpersonal skills.

Emoluments : Rs. 31,000/- + 24% HRA per month
Age Limit: Below 35 Years
