Indian Pharma Market Grew 14.1% In July, AIOCD Report

New Delhi : Indian Pharmaceutical Market (IPM) grew 14.1% in value and 7.3% in volumes, in the month of July on back of strong growth across all the therapy areas, according to market research firm AWACS.IPM saw sales of Rs 15,921 crore during July.

All therapeutic categories, except anti-infectives have witnessed double digit growth.

The fastest growing categories are respiratory which grew at 22.3%, gynaecology – 24%, chemotherapy – 28.4%, urology – 22.5%, ophthalmic – 18.8%, pain – 16.9% and derma – 16.7%. The monsoon related flu-season and rebound of nonemergency surgeries, could have led to the growth of the above segments.

Augmentin of GSK, Glycomet of USV and Mixtard of Abbott, remain top-3 selling brands in India.
