Man arrested for illegal sale of steroid injections in Hyderabad

The Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone, arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly illegally procuring and selling steroid injections without a valid licence or medical prescription and seized drugs and equipment worth ₹1.60 lakh in Attapur.

The accused, Mohd Faisal Khan, a worker at a a furniture shop and resident of Kishanbagh, was found in possession of 133 vials of Mephentermine Sulphate injections of 30 mg each, 100 disposable syringes and a mobile phone.

According to the police, Faisal Khan regularly visited a gym and became aware of the demand for steroid injections among youth seeking rapid muscle growth. He allegedly began sourcing the injections from Surat and selling them to known customers at inflated prices without authorisation or a doctor’s prescription.

Based on a tip-off, the West Zone Task Force apprehended him while he was carrying the injections. During questioning, he reportedly admitted to purchasing the drugs through Indian Mart and supplying them locally.

Police said the unauthorised sale of such injections posed serious health risks and violated provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Individuals who had consumed the injections were counselled and advised to seek medical consultation.
