The project still needs statutory clearances and the approval of Global Health’s board of directors, the company said.
New Delhi: Global Health Ltd, which runs hospitals under the Medanta brand, has acquired land in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, for about Rs 165.82 crore and plans to develop a tertiary care hospital with more than 350 beds on the site, the company said on Tuesday.
The plot measures 10,560 square metres, according to the company. The hospital remains subject to customary and statutory approvals as well as clearance from the board, it said. Global Health did not say when work on the site would begin or when the hospital is expected to admit its first patients, and it did not put a figure on the construction cost.
Global Health said the facility is meant to serve patients in Ghaziabad and a wider catchment that takes in eastern Delhi, Meerut, Saharanpur, Hapur, Bulandshahr and other parts of western Uttar Pradesh.
“We see Ghaziabad as a compelling long-term healthcare opportunity,” said Pankaj Sahni, Group CEO and Director of Global Health. He added that the area had seen considerable urban and economic growth and that demand for advanced, specialised care there continued to rise.
The new site would join a network of six operational Medanta hospitals in Gurgaon, Indore, Ranchi, Lucknow, Patna and Noida. According to the company, these facilities together had 3,737 installed beds as of 30 June 2026.
Global Health also has five hospitals under development, the company said. These are in Mumbai, Guwahati and Varanasi, along with two projects in Delhi, at Pitampura and in south Delhi.
With the Ghaziabad plan, the group adds a further Delhi-NCR project to a portfolio that already includes its Gurgaon and Noida hospitals and the two Delhi hospitals now in the pipeline, according to the company’s statement.
