Medical shop operating without licence raided, illegal stock seized

A medical shop in Alwal was raided by officials of the Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) following a tip-off about illegal sale of medicines. During the inspection, officials discovered that the medical store was being operated illegally by the accused identified as Y.V. Subba Rao who did not have a valid drug licence.

During the raid, DCA teams uncovered medicines that were stocked without authorisation for commercial sale. The total value of the seized stock is estimated at ₹30,000.

According to officials, 20 different varieties of medicines, including anti-fungal drugs, painkillers, and medication used to treat erectile dysfunction were found on the premises. Samples of the seized medicines have been sent for laboratory analysis. The DCA has assured that appropriate legal action will be taken against all those found involved in the offence, said a release.
