Open loot of Pharmaceutical Companies

Pawan Kumar Bansal: Gustakhi Maaf Haryana

Subsequent to our Stories under Heading “Open loot of Pharmaceutical Companies” highlightinh how pharm companies are minting money/ cheating ailing patients by circumventing legal provisions quoting live example of Morepenam Injection- a life saving forth generation antibiotic being sold after printing MRP of around 4000/- ignoring controlled of the drug which is around 1000/- per 1 gm vial, The Drugs Control Administation Tilangana deserves all appreciation for screwing noose around one of such Himachal based manufacturer and his collateral which will go long way to provide relief to ailing mankind from clutches of such unscrupulous elements The vigilant Drug officer at Telangana has seized all such contravened stocks of this drug and have issued notices under Drugs Price Control Order 2013 for selling this drug after prining MRP exceeding DPCO 2013 on the product.

The action by the Drug regulator is widely appreciated in the Drug Control officers circle. As per the legal provisions under EC Act 1955, the offence is cognizable in nature, serious and FIR is maintainable against the violators for the over printing/ charging, for which the Drug officer is competent to proceed further.

If similar action against all such other manufacturer, contract manufacturer or distributor is taken by the Drug regulator, the day is not far off when we can protect our poor ailing human from such rascals. You imagine how a poor labourer, daily wager, rickshaw puller manage huge amount in such situation and these bad elements enjoys.January १५ ,२०२४ Author could be contacted at pawanbansal २@gmail.com.
