Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.79% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI:  The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:19AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Abbott India Ltd.(up 0.74 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 0.68 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(up 0.41 per cent) and J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.03 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 3.1 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.58 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 2.0 per cent), Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(down 1.87 per cent) and Granules India Ltd.(down 1.86 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.79 per cent at 21599.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 147.66 points at 23806.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 552.08 points at 78536.46.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, IREDA, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and Ola Electric Mobilit were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Cura Tech, Mahamaya Steel, Jupiter Life Line Hospitals, Bohra Industries and SBI Card hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Shrem InvIT, Sanco Industries, AGS Transact Tech, Marshall Machines and Praxis Home Retail hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
