Three arrested after liquor bottles found at pharma firm

Patna: Three people were arrested and sent to jail after a large quantity of liquor bottles was found at Cellulas Pharma Private Limited in Kankarbagh during a raid by the Bihar drug control department on Friday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team led by the state drug controller, assisted by Kankarbagh police, inspected another firm at D-167, PC Colony, on Thursday.

“The team found that the establishment failed to produce medicine purchase and sale records and other mandatory documents. The prescribed signboard was also missing, while storage arrangements were found unsatisfactory,” an official press release stated.

The firm’s drug licence covered only one room measuring 11.15 square metres, but medicines were stored in four rooms. The flat’s main entrance was sealed pending investigation.

Two expired medicines were seized under Form 16, while samples of seven medicines were collected for testing.

The firm has been directed to submit the required records within five days. The department will initiate further action after examining the documents and laboratory reports, officials said. Inspections will continue to ensure drug quality and regulatory compliance.
