₹ 2.85 Lakh Intoxicant Cough Syrup Apcorex Recovered From Car

Mirzapur : The district police have arrested two youths with intoxicating cough syrup. Those who were taking the drug APCOREX in a car to Madhya Pradesh. Total 1884 Bottles of 100 ml of around ₹ 2.85 lakh were recovered from the vehicle. The youth apprehended are residents of New Basti Aurai, Bhadohi district police of Lalganj police Station area.

This was disclosed by SP Santosh Kumar Mishra in Police Lines on Wednesday. Announced a reward of ten thousand rupees to the police team that caught the drug dealers.

SP Santosh Kumar Mishra has launched a campaign against crime and criminals in the district. In-charge Inspector Ram Narayan Ram arrested two accused on the basis of information received from the informer. From their possession Swift DZire car was found. The car was carrying illegal narcotic syrup 1884 Bottles are 100 ml each APCOREX.

The recovered syrup contains a mixture of codeine phosphate. Which is of intense intoxicating nature. Which can be stored and transported as medicine only at licensed Medical stores. Its storage and transportation without a license is illegal and an offense under the NDPS Act.

Legal action is being taken by registering a case at police station Lalganj. The arrested accused said that illegal syrups were being taken from Bhadohi to Madhya Pradesh for sale. Told that we keep in touch with people ourselves. As much as there is demand for them, they deliver Bottles as per demand. In return, they earn good profits. Due to being banned, the face value is available.

Based on the information, the police arrested Ravi Shankar Yadav alias Nanhaku son Lal Bahadur Yadav and Shyam Sundar Yadav son Rampat Yadav, resident of Nai Basti in Aurai police station area of Bhadohi district. The team that caught them and recovered the goods was headed by Inspector Ramnarayan Ram, in-charge of the station.
