2400 Bottles Of Eskuf Cough Syrup Seized In Bhubaneswar; 2 Held

Bhubaneswar : Bharatpur police on Monday seized 2400 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup from an autorickshaw at Baramunda Bus Stand here.

The police have arrested two persons in this connection.

The accused persons have been identified as Dillip Barad (20) and Asish Kumar Sahoo (24) of Chakeisiani and Sameigadia respectively under Mancheswar police limits, police said.

The seized cough syrup bottles of 100 ml each were packed in 10 cartons. While five cartons contained 160 bottles of cough syrup each, another five cartons contained 320 bottles each of the banned cough syrup.

Police have also seized 5 tablets of Alprazolam 0.5 mg, 3 mobile phones, and the autorickshaw used for transportation of cough syrup (autorickshaw Registration No. OD-05-C-2423).

Police said the accused are agents cum suppliers of the adulterated Eskuf Cough syrup.
