49 Cartons Of Cough Syrup Seized From Parcel Vehicle

Araria: Mahalgaon police station has recovered 49 cartons of narcotic cough syrup from a vehicle labelled ‘Postal Parcel’.

Police have also arrested the driver Chintu Prasad, son of Lakhan Yadav, a resident of Patna.

Giving information in this case, Mahalgaon police station in-charge Rajesh Kumar said that the patrol vehicle got suspicious as to why this postal parcel vehicle was leaving the main road and going to Borel village. After that, when the patrol police searched the vehicle, 735 liters of narcotic cough syrup was recovered in 49 cartons.

After the recovery of the narcotic cough syrup, the police arrested the driver of the postal parcel vehicle and upon questioning, the driver told that this narcotic cough syrup was to be brought from Patna and was delivered to a mobile holder in Borel village of Mahalgaon police station by calling him.

It is known that the consumption of narcotic cough syrup and narcotic drugs has increased a lot in the district. Due to which people are falling prey to addiction.

The Mahalgaon police station in-charge said that the driver is being arrested and sent to jail and the narcotic cough syrup has been seized. He said that the location information of the mobile number on which the delivery was to be made is being obtained. So that, it can be known to which businessman the narcotic cough syrup was to be delivered.
