Asthma drug cost- Big issue

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM

The Kerala State Human Rights Commission on Saturday ordered to look into the possible fcators for  increase in the price of medicine for chronic and acute asthma patients. Deadline of March 10 is given to the Health Secretary and Drugs Controller. The medicines are produced by a private company in Mumbai. The price of such medicines on the list of controlled drugs is highly regulated. Their prices are reviewed only once in 10 years. The drug which cost just Rs.4.70 is now Rs.42. Complaint filed by activist Thampi Surendran is acted upon by forum.
