Himachal Resident Held With 2184 Tramadol Capsules

JAMMU: An individual from Himachal Pradesh was arrested with psychotropic drugs by Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) from Narwal area on yesterday.

Jatinder Kumar of Damtal, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, was apprehended for carrying 2184 tramadol capsules from ISBT Narwal, an ANTF spokesperson said.

According to him, the accused was smuggling these drugs in commercial quantity to Jammu and Kashmir from outside the UT.

The accused has been accordingly booked in case FIR number 14/2023 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu and further investigation taken up to arrest other drug peddlers and clients involved in the drugs nexus within and outside the UT.

Pertinently, the entire operation was carried out by Shamsher Singh, DySP ANTF Jammu, under the supervision of SSP ANTF J&K, Raj Kumar Sharma.

Meanwhile, the ANTF has appealed the general public to stay away from the drugs and inform police in case of any information about the drug related activities in their area.
