Excise Department Seized 5000 Fake Cough Syrup Bottles And Pickup Van, Arrested 2 Accused

Patna: The excise department team raided a warehouse located at Choti Pahari in Patna. Five thousand fake and banned cough syrups, worth about 5 lakh  recovered.

Two accused were also arrested from the spot. Also, a pickup van was seized. The case is from the Transport Nagar area.

Within the last one month, the excise department has conducted raids at four different places. So far, fake syrup worth Rs 1 crore has been recovered.

Assistant Commissioner of Excise Department Prem Prakash said that the raid was conducted on the basis of secret information. After interrogating the accused, both have been sent to jail.

Fake banned cough syrup has been confiscated and further action is being taken. The excise department is continuously taking action against businessmen making fake cough syrup. But, the main accused is still out of police custody.
