KTR hits out at Revanth Reddy for deceiving farmers on Pharma City development

Hyderabad: BRS working president K T Rama Rao accused the Congress government of deceiving farmers and tribal communities who gave up their lands for the development of the Hyderabad Pharma City project. He said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who promised to return the Pharma City lands to farmers, was now planning to build the Future City and conspiring to turn fertile lands into real estate goldmines for his family and friends.

Rama Rao said Revanth Reddy’s wrongdoings were piling up, from attempting to plunder Dalit and tribal lands in Kodangal for his son-in-law’s pharma venture to diverting Pharma City lands for the Future City, to benefit the Anumula brothers. He slammed the Congress for its U-turn on Pharma City.

“Revanth Reddy had promised to scrap the project and return lands to farmers. But instead, his government is now trying to divert the same lands for shady deals. This is fraud at its worst,” he declared.

The BRS working president also condemned the government’s conflicting stance on the Pharma City, where it had publicly announced the project’s cancellation but submitted affidavits in court stating that it was under implementation. “This is not just betrayal of farmers, it is contempt of court,” he said.

He demanded that the Congress government explain why the lands were not being returned as promised during the elections, or why no efforts were being made to engage in discussions with the agitating farmers to resolve the issue.

Rama Rao stated that the ruling party had built its governance on “fake promises, legal manipulation, official harassment, and shameless land grabbing.” He asserted that the Pharma City lands cannot be used for other purposes and warned that farmers are in no mood to forgive the Congress government if the lands are not returned. He cautioned that if the Congress proceeds with land allocations under the Future City banner, BRS will join hands with aggrieved farmers and launch a serious agitation.
