Gang making fake health supplements busted in Muzaffarnagar, two arrested

Muzaffarnagar: Khalapar police station has taken a major action and exposed a gang manufacturing fake health supplements in the name of international brands. Police have recovered goods worth about Rs 1.5 crore from the spot, which includes protein powder, capsules, labels, stickers, packing machines and other materials. Two accused have been arrested, while the gang’s network is being investigated.

The police received information from an informer that fake health supplements were being manufactured in a factory in Khalapar area. After this, the police team raided and arrested Asif Saifi (26 years) and Javed Saifi (37 years).

During police interrogation, the accused said that they used to prepare fake products under the name Herbal Power Pharmaceuticals and sell them online and in the local market by labelling them with the names of countries like the USA, Russia and Japan. Both the accused have done a business of about Rs 2 crore so far and were earning Rs 15 to 20 lakh every month.

Police have recovered a huge quantity of capsules, protein powder, empty boxes, sealing machine, packing machine, barcode stickers, capsule filling machine from the spot.

SP City Satyanarayan Prajapati told (Video) in a press conference that the accused have already gone to jail and now action is being taken against them under the Gangster Act.

SSP Sanjay Verma praised this action and said that those who play with health will not be spared at any cost. Police are also investigating the network and supply chain of this gang.

This action is being considered important from the point of view of protecting the health of the general public, because consumption of fake supplements can lead to serious diseases.
