Home Minister Anitha seeks report on fire accident at pharma unit in APSEZ

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V. Anitha on Sunday directed officials to submit a comprehensive report on the fire accident at the SVS Chemical Industries on the APSEZ premises in Rambilli within 48 hours.

Ms. Anitha, along with Yelamanchili MLA Sundarapu Vijay Kumar, District Collector Vijaya Krishnan and industry representatives visited the accident site. During her visit, Ms. Anitha expressed her anger at the company representatives and questioned them about the alleged storing of chemicals beyond permissible limit. She instructed the officials concerned to submit a detailed report in two days, clearly stating the causes of the accident, losses etc.

The Home Minister said that the fire accident had occurred on January 3 at around 4.30 p.m. Authorities concerned responded immediately. The fire safety personnel reached the spot promptly and brought the fire under control. The local MLA rushed to the accident site and reviewed the situation, while the district police monitored the situation.

The Minister assured that steps were being taken to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. She also stated that strict legal action would be taken against those responsible for the incident and that no one would be spared.
