State government ready to penalized people for Spreading Dengue, Swine Flu

Be attentive as the health department sent a proposal to the state government to declare dengue, swine flu and malaria as notified diseases in the state. And the drafted proposal has provisions to penalize those who are found to be harbouring mosquito larvae in their houses.

Government authorities required to be notified for the notified diseases. The authorities need to monitor the disease and provide early warning of possible outbreaks. WHO said notified disease is crucial to implement functional reporting. The data need to transmit from the community level to the national level and then the feedback on the programme’s efficacy and allow actions to be taken to improve areas of weakness.

Now the Rajasthan government decided to propose three diseases as a notifiable disease. According to govt official, they have initiated the process and also sent the proposal to the state government.

The benefit of notification is that it will allow officials to find houses for larvae and mosquitoes and then they can penalise if a person is found to be harboring mosquitoes. 55,000 sites found

States like Punjab, Maharashtra and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, already been declared as a notified disease.

Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) reports proved that Rajasthan has reported the highest number of swine flu cases this year. Total 1,511 cases of swine flu have been reported from across the country up to March 18 and 1,250 out of these were reported from Rajasthan.
